Gymnastics is the #1 sport to develop total body and mind fitness. Physically it improves health, helps with weight control ,develops strength, flexibility, balance, body awareness and grace of movement. Mentally it increases concentration, focus, courage and discipline. These are all qualities that the student carries over into other areas of life. Nova’s unique mind and body curriculum stresses teaching life skills through sport.
Nova’s has classes forming for beginners through advanced students from 3 years old to adult. From September to June classes are conducted after school, in the evening and on weekends. In July and August we run a day camp for all levels of students beginner to advanced.
Classes are for children 3 and 4 years old and are 1 hour long. They are usually held after school or on Saturday mornings. Children are taught eye hand coordination, movement to rhythm, basic tumbling and gymnastics skills. When they get to be 5 years old they move to our regular programs Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Dance or Martial Arts.
Classes are for children 5 years and older. Children learn skills on all the Olympic events of artistic gymnastics and are also taught trampoline and dance.
Beginning level gymnastics classes are usually an hour and a half once or twice a week.
Intermediates can come 2 or 3 times per week. Team competitive classes levels 4 to 10 come 3 to 5 times per week.
Nova runs after-school and weekend programs from September to June.
In July and August we run a summer camp.
